tracked hourly contract hours on Upwork
The interesting part of Ann’s story is not simply the hourly rate. It is the combination of longevity, expanding capability,
loyalty, integrity, and the amount of trust a good long-term offshore hire can earn.
At one point, a client tried to hire Ann directly at a higher rate. She immediately turned the offer down and told me about it.
That kind of integrity is hard to measure in a skills test, but it is exactly the kind of quality that makes a long-term remote team work.
You have time to run the search yourself
You need direction before you hire
A 60-minute strategy call for $247 or a three-call setup package for $647.
You know you need the hire but do not want to run the search
Sourcing, screening, role-relevant assessments, an initial interview, and typically 3 to 5 qualified candidates. Introductory fees start at $497.
For most of our working relationship, Ann was paid $5/hour. In 2026, I gave her an unrequested surprise raise to $5.40/hour.
I use the rate as context, not as a promise that every strong offshore hire should cost the same. What matters is the combination of rate, skill growth, reliability, trust, and the value of a person who can stay with the business for years.
Do not hire only for the narrow task list you have today. Communication, integrity, curiosity, and the ability to learn can matter more over time than whether someone already knows every tool on day one.
For long-term hires, it also makes sense to review role scope and compensation proactively as the person becomes more valuable rather than waiting for them to ask.
The relationship is direct rather than sitting behind an ongoing staffing-company salary markup. Contractor classification, tax, payroll, and legal obligations vary by client and jurisdiction, so OutsourcedTalent does not present direct hiring as a way to avoid applicable legal responsibilities.
